Samsung Galaxy Alpha – Rumors confirmed by other rumors

One of the most rumored smartphone lately was Galaxy Alpha and, apparently, pretty much all the leaks are now being confirmed by… new leaks. One thing we know it’s not true is, obviously, the launch speculated on August 4th.

So let’s see what we have so far.

The design criticism around the Galaxy S5 made Samsung go into a complete new direction with Galaxy Alpha. And, why try something new when you have a successful example to draw inspiration for? Therefore, according to the pictures posted online, Samsung look really… iPhone-ish.

A reinvention in terms of design was expected after S5 failed miserably (we’re not saying that, users are). In fact, Samsung changed the head of the mobile division in May, 2014, so a change was due.

Let’s see what we can find inside it.

The device allegedly has a 4,7” AMOLED Display, 12 MP rear camera and 2.1 MP front camera, 2GB RAM, 32/64 GB internal storage. As “cool features”, Alpha will have a fingerprint sensor, hear rate monitor, 4G LTE and nano SIM.

Now we have a contradiction. Some sources say the internal memory can be extended with a MicroSD, some say it won’t be possible. It would be quite disappointing if the MicroSD was removed – at least here it should’ve be different than iPhone.

Apparently, the new Galaxy will no longer use the Qualcomm; instead, they will go with the Octa-core Exynos 5 processor.

With the iPhone looks and feels, we are hoping the device will, at least, have a removable battery.
